Trying new things

Well, today was a day of many firsts.

Let’s start with the firsts of the firsts, yes? I got a job! I’ll be working part-time for a little internet-based company here in town and am so excited! It will be a great little escape from campus…and the extra cash won’t be too bad either! The timing is quite ironic…just the other day I put on my Facebook page: I needs to sell a kidney. Or get a job. One of the two. Well, looks like I’ll be keeping that kidney! I went for my first day this morning, and really loved it! It’s laid back and fun..and I’m just so darn excited!

This leads us to our second first…if that makes sense. Now that I have a job, I will be spending a lot more time in good ole’ Florida. This will actually be my very first weekend staying in town, and not escaping to Tampa for a weekend adventure, this semester.

I’m not gonna lie, my feelings are mixed on this. As much as I love Tampa, and all the people that make it home, I’m excited to know that I will be having a bit more of a college experience, know what I mean? Whisking off to Tampa for amazing yoga workshops and classes, and dining with delicious food and wine nightly, isn’t exactly the typical college experience. It’s great, and I love it, but I’m learning that the yoga I need to be practicing right now, is just being present. Present with where I am in life, and just being here for it. There’s a part of me that feels like I’m missing so much there…all the people I love so dearly just CAN’T be having fun without me, right!? Silly, I know. I’ll keep you posted on how this weekend goes…it’s gonna be interesting!

The last of the firsts, is caused by the second, which was caused by the firstif that makes sense Wink I had to stock up at the grocery store since I will actually be staying in town! Looks like the rice cooker will be making much more than oatmeal over the next few days!

Got some stuff to make scrambled eggs…

And smoothies…hey, how’d that coffee-mate get in there. It sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the organic almond milk and half and half…

And in the spirit of firsts, I think I will be the first one to bed tonight at the house. After Hurricane Monday and a very busy few days following, I’m exhausted!

I’ll leave you with one of my latest favorites from a book I just read called The Warrior of the Light.
