Cereal and Dairy Overload

Forget the cookie monster. I have been craving cereal like no other these past few days! I had another mug full of my Kashi blend, vanilla soy and agave this afternoon with some strawberries. It’s just soooo good.

Heather just did a post talking about comfort foods and asked what everyone’s was.…Mine is definitely cereal! It makes me feel like a kid again…even the healthy, fiberlicious stuff! Speaking of her they are doing a Giveaway and will draw names on Saturday. Go check it out!

I didn’t make it to the Farmer’s Market this afternoon but did run some errands with my friend Tina. She is also going to the conference this weekend and we discussed lots of snack ideas…she’s a healthy foodie too. Neither of us do well on empty, or refined food filled stomachs!

Speaking of cereal monsters, I found this at Publix while we were out and had never seen it before:

The ingredients and nutritionals are really good. It’s a little lighter than my favorite Kashi Go Lean Crunch and I thought it would be a good night time snack. I’m definitely not a calorie counter but I thought this 110 calorie version would be a much better before-bed option than the 190 calorie Kashi GLC. We shall see!

I also bought some honeycrisp apples and the new Clean Eating Magazine. Apparently I think money grows on trees. My bank account disagrees. Food is just so expensive! It’s just one of those things worth spending money on though, in my opinion. How do you save money? Do you know of any places to find good coupons? It’s always hard to find coupons for the healthy stuff!

I decided to eat the served meal at the house tonight since Mexican food is my weakness. Tonight’s dinner was chicken quesadillas, black beans and rice. It was really good but I am on total dairy overload. Cheese in my salad earlier, cheese in the quesadillas and a little sour cream for my mexi-meal.

I ended up eating dinner downstairs with the rest of the gang and enjoyed myself. It’s fun to catch up at the end of the day.

Oh, and I may or may not have had a scoop of frozen yogurt and sliver of apple pie. I just couldn’t resist! I rarely have a real dessert and this looked really good. I like to treat myself to a nice dessert every once in a while. A little dark chocolate square usually does the trick but I think it is good for the soul (there I go talkin’ about souls again!) to indulge in a yummy dessert every once in a while. This definitely pushed me into a dairy coma, however. My tummy is definitely not feeling too good right now. I have learned that I can really only tolerate about a serving of dairy a day and that’s usually what I stick to. Today’s 3 or so servings was definitely over board. (Still don’t regret that yummy fro yo though…mmmm)

I’m off to relax and enjoy my down time. I got Grey’s Anatomy Season 4 on DVD for Christmas and am 4 episodes in…SO GOOD. I’m hoping to make some progress into the season tonight. =)
