Friendship

This week has been busy and Ive learned two very important things:

1. Mid-twenties is different from early twenties.

2. I just cant hang like I use to.

With one friend leaving and two returning (if only for a visit), its been a week full of celebration. Ive been out almost every night and Im starting to pay for it. Im exhausted, crabby and feel like Im getting sick. Dont get me wrong, I love my friends, but I just cant hang anymore. Im the girl who goes to bed by 10 p.m. every night and needs a solid 8 hours to function.

In an effort to get going yesterday morning I started with a smoothie in a bowl (SIAB) and a cup of Yerba Mate tea.

SIAB:

1 cup soy milk
1 cup blueberries
1 banana
2 handfuls spinach
1 scoop Amazing Grass Organic Wheat Grass Powder
2 tbsp ground flax-seed

Several cups of tea later and one unpictured string cheese I opted for an omelet lunch. Ive actually never made an omelet before, but for my first attempt I think it turned out well.

My omelet included:

1 egg, 2 egg whites
spinach
tomatoes
cheddar cheese
mushrooms
ham
side of Sirichai

Post lunch I spent several hours with friends and came home later in the day for a much-anticipated bike ride.

Now, I dont have the best past when it comes to biking. Ive injured myself on numerous occasions, including a broken arm and stitches. Last night I was bragging about how I havent had a biking accident in several years and thats when the biking gods decided to put me in my place. All I know is that my elbow greeted the ground, followed by my wrist and back. Did I mention that I was completely stopped when this happened?

After limping home I decided that I was in no shape to go out that night and opted to stay home, a big salad and 30 Rock. Best decision of the week!

I prepared my salad (and was too lazy to transfer it out the mixing bowl to eat) and just chilled.

Im currently enjoying a yog mess and coffee, nursing a swollen wrist and sore arm and planning dinner for tonight.

Im making dinner for my friends, one of whom is a vegetarian. What to make?

What is your go-to meal to impress guests?
